During morning worship service Dr. Corey D. B. Walker, Dean of the School of Theology at VUU, preached from the subject \u201cA Cross-Shaped Faith&#8221;, Acts 4:32-35. That afternoon the\u00a0<b>VUU Chamber Singers and the Celebration Male Chorus<\/b>, led by Dr. Willis Barnett were in concert.<b><i>VUU Day<\/i><\/b>\u00a0was organized to celebrate the longstanding relationship between\u00a0<b>SLBC<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Virginia Union University<\/b>. Both institutions have been in existence for over 150 years and were established to continue to encourage and promote the educational and religious freedom of Africans in America. Over the past 150 years\u00a0<b>SLBC<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>VUU<\/b>\u00a0have shared a close bond through many of the pastors and members of\u00a0<b>SLBC<\/b>\u00a0who have worked or been educated at\u00a0<b>VUU<\/b>. Seven of the eleven clergymen to serve as pastors of\u00a0<b>Second Liberty<\/b>have been educated and\/or taught at\u00a0<b>VUU<\/b>. Their names are: Dr. Andrew Harvey Cumber, William H. Gray, Dr. John Kemp, Dr. Miles Mark Fisher, Dr. George W. Watkins, James W. Mills, and Sean T. Young.\u00a0<b><i>VUU Day<\/i><\/b>\u00a0at\u00a0<b>SLBC<\/b>\u00a0was not only an opportunity to celebrate the longstanding relationship but to raise money for the scholarship fund at\u00a0<b>VUU<\/b>.
